Air Leak Audits

An air leak audit seeks to locate leaks in the compressed air system. An approximate dollar value is assigned to each leak so that justification can be made for repair of the system. A systematic program of repairing the leaks should be implemented as soon as possible.

A leak survey usually identifies the most common leak areas:

  • Pipe connections and valves
  • Defunct equipment with air left on
  • Hoses and disconnect plugs
  • Traps and drains (liquid)
  • Manual blow-down valves
  • Filters, gaskets and seals
